The Scallopini Shawl already had a lot of personality: soft French Vanilla Chibi Paka Chunky, a sweeping row of scallops, and a bright Bumblebee edge. But those scallops looked like little spaces waiting for flowers.
I pulled out my Poketto Chibi Pack and started playing with Scandi embroidered flower motifs. The fun part was figuring out the placement. I wanted color along the center of the shawl, with enough open space for the shape and texture of the knitting to shine through. I left the scallops toward the ends unembroidered and scattered flowers across the middle.
The small green French knots just inside the edge were one of my favorite additions. They follow every curve and tie the flowers and Bumblebee trim together. Here’s a close look at those little knots in progress:
